I hear Garnett’s knee is back to how it was two years ago, pre-injury. Looking forward to Celtics embarrassing the Heat.
Jeff Van Gundy is probably one of my favorite NBA coaches and an entertaining commentator on ESPN. I consider him to have the most level-headed, blunt basketball opinions so it’s a little disappointing to read he’s jumping on the Miami Heat bandwagon.
“They will break the single-season win record [of 72],” Jeff Van Gundy said. “And I think they have a legit shot at the Lakers’ 33-game [winning] streak [in 1971-72], as well. And only the Lakers have even a remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose two games in a row this year.
“They have put together a much better roster than anybody could ever have expected,” Van Gundy added. “There is now no good way to defend them. They are unguardable. They are indefensible. They are just too good and have added so much shooting and are so versatile that they will score at will.
“And with Erik Spoelstra coaching, they will be in the top three defensive teams in the league, as well. The other 29 teams better hope the lockout gets moved up a year.”
They got some good ones in here, including dunks by Reggie Miller and Allen Iverson but I’m not sure if I’d agree with the order. Check it out for yourself.
Nike is back with some more MVPuppets commercials. Personally, my favorite wasn’t even from an original from Nike but it was a dub-over of the commercial which you can find here. But I still am looking forward to the future commercials.
At the 2:07 mark, AI gets choked up and all of a sudden, the steady flashes of the cameras pick up tremendously to catch that shot for the back of the sports page. I definitely do not think Iverson is one to embarrass himself if he can’t play at his the level we’re used to seeing. But then again, we shall see.
I saw him all throughout the playoffs last year but I did not know he had hops like that. He may want to put his name into the dunk competition.
