I don’t watch BET so I wasn’t aware they had their award show.  I did see the cyphers and while they definitely do not compare to last year’s, this wasn’t so bad.  Missing a few people though.

Common: "Hip-Hop Does Not Have The Same Impact Today"

“It’s sad, because hip hop does not have the same impact today that it did when I was coming up,” Common said in an interview. “I think about my daughter and hip-hop has no real impact on her lifestyle. I remember wearing medallions and finding out about Farrakhan and that movement because Chuck D talked about it. Hip-Hop had a big relevance on life. With the movie release less than two weeks away, Volume 2 of Just Wright, the mixtape has dropped.  This volume is also on some grown folk ish but a volume 3 will be dropping before the movie release with more of Common’s music so stay tuned.
